Guardians Overview
In Guild of Guardians, players acquire Guardians through Summoning, a process that involves either purchasing a summon or earning summoning shards by playing the game.
Guild of Guardians accelerates collectibility, offering a diverse selection of Guardians to acquire and upgrade. Each Guardian possesses unique traits defining its playstyle, strengths, and weaknesses.
Through merging and crafting systems, players can enhance Guardian power and even transform their abilities in some cases. Success against the Dread requires building a strategic roster of Guardians to unlock synergies that tilt battles in the players' favor.

Guardians
What you should consider when summoning a Guardian:
Combat Attributes:
Health, Attack, and Defense. Additionally, there are secondary attributes like critical strike, critical damage, healing, and evasion.
Level:
Guardians start at level 1 and can be leveled up to improve their combat attributes and unlock/enhance their skills. XP is earned through dungeon exploration, and further advancement may require upgrading the enlightenment of a chosen Guardian.
Faction:
Guardians belong to different factions, influencing their general type. Collecting Guardians of the same faction is crucial for enhancing squad power.
Role:
Guardians are assigned combat roles such as Tank, Assassin, or Support, impacting team formation strategies before battles.
Aptitude:
Guardians have aptitudes (Strength, Agility, Intelligence) determining the equipment they can use and affecting tactical considerations in combat.
Domain:
Guardians gain advantages against those of a 'weaker' domain, adding strategic depth to battles.
Rarity:
Guardians come in Common, Rare, Epic, and Legendary rarities, each with different attributes and growth potential.
Enlightenment:
Increasing enlightenment level boosts primary combat attributes and is achieved by consuming duplicates, Faction Ash, and Radiant Souls.
Radiance:
Radiant Guardians are NFTs with enhanced abilities, UI/UX (User interface/User experience) changes, trading capabilities, and cosmetic variations. They undergo 'ascension' to unlock these traits.
Skills:
Guardians can have up to four skills, either passive, auto, or ultimate, contributing to their effectiveness in combat.

Guild’s
Guild of Guardians encourages multiplayer gameplay, encouraging players to join Guilds for various benefits. Guilds provide opportunities to tackle challenging content, collaborate with others to craft items for sale, and engage in other activities. Players aiming to earn big rewards, collect everything, and fully experience the game will find joining a Guild essential for maximising their gameplay experience and achieving their goals.

Guild Leader gets a guaranteed first-cut of any guild crafted item sale
Guilds grant players access to exclusive Game Modes, unavailable to non-members. These modes serve as platforms for players to showcase their top heroes, challenge the game's most formidable adversaries, and secure special and valuable rewards not found elsewhere.

Equipment
Guild of Guardians boasts a vast array of weapons and armor, offering players numerous options for discovery and creation. Each piece can provide unique buffs, supplying stat bonuses to the equipped Guardians. Some equipment sets may even provide additional bonuses when worn together, enhancing Guardian abilities.
Furthermore, Guild of Guardians does not engage in the sale of equipment; players must acquire items through in-game exploration, crafting, and discovery.
Equipment types
Basic
This is the standard equipment a guardian wear’s, has four equipment slots. Equipment will have fixed and random affixes based on Rarity. There are different tier’s of equipment that unlocks through game progression. Equipment can also be reinforced with in-game resources which scale equipment between tiers.
This equipment includes; weapon, helm, body & feet.
Exclusive
Exclusive equipment is equipment that has a particular bond with it’s guardian. Other Guardians cannot equip items in this slot that aren’t designated to them.
Artifacts
Powerful gear that can be customised to provide specific Guardians unique effects!

In-Game Economy
Leaderboards
Leaderboards play a pivotal role in Guild of Guardians, serving as a significant economic system and a primary source of $GOG token distribution. In these weekly events within the Endless Dungeon Modes, players must strategically develop squads to overcome dungeon challenges. The leaderboards feature various tiers and divisions based on player performance, offering promotions or demotions accordingly. All participants receive rewards, including web3 rewards like NFTs from Immutable and $GOG tokens distributed by Guardians Guild Limited.
Guardian enlightenment system
In Guild of Guardians, Guardians can undergo tiered upgrades beyond their base level through the enlightenment system. Players must sacrifice certain Guardians or specific types of Guardians to "enlighten" a Guardian, unlocking new skills and enhancing its potential. This mechanic prompts players to plan their progression carefully, balancing the acquisition and utilisation of Guardians to hone their Guardian's development and effectiveness in the game.
Free-to-play Guardians of all rarities
In Guild of Guardians, players can access Guardians of all rarities. Initially, these Guardians are obtained as web2 assets. Players have the option to use a Minting Resource to convert their Guardians into NFTs, unlocking additional bonuses. Even free-to-play players can acquire Minting Resources by successfully completing challenging in-game activities.
Guardian Radiance
In Guild of Guardians, players start with Web2 Guardians obtained through gameplay or in-app purchases, lacking Radiance. To upgrade them to 'Radiant' versions, players need to accumulate Minting Resources, obtainable through in-game activities, with holding $GOG tokens potentially boosting the rate of generation.
Special events may introduce alternative alternatives for transformation. Once a Guardian is 'Radiant,' it becomes an NFT, tradeable with other players and unlocking special perks and gameplay features.
Increasing Radiance requires sacrificing a Radiant Guardian to obtain "Radiant Souls," enhancing versatility. Both a Guardian's Enlightenment and Radiance are embedded in its metadata and transferable to other players, unlocking additional attributes and cosmetic features.
Dynamic Minting Costs
The cost of transforming Guardians into "Radiant" variants adjusts dynamically based on the existing number of Radiant Guardians of that type.
This Dynamic Minting Cost system aims to regulate the supply of Radiant Guardians fairly. Different rarity tiers and metadata traits may influence the cost functions, with highly desirable Legendary Guardians having steeper costs, while more Common Guardians have gentler cost functions.
This approach empowers players to decide whether to ascend their Guardians or acquire them from the marketplace based on their preferences and resources.
Equipment Crafting & Upgrades
Equipment Crafting:
Merge gameplay generates various materials used in equipment crafting.
Rare Equipment Blueprints may also be uncovered for crafting powerful gear.
Strategic resource management is essential to gather the right materials and craft optimal equipment for progression.
Equipment Upgrades:
After equipping Guardians, players continue to refine and improve gear through equipment upgrade loops.
Upgrading equipment unlocks new stat boosts and enhanced attributes.
Higher quality crafted equipment offers greater upgrade potential, motivating players to seek upgrades while exploring Elderym dungeons.

The Altar of Sacrifice
The Altar of Sacrifice is a web-based system in Guild of Guardians that allows players to create new NFTs by following recipes provided by developers. During Altar events, players can collect and combine recipes and offer them up as sacrifices to receive exciting rewards. These events occur periodically for a limited time and are announced through social media channels, often with clues for upcoming recipes. Recipes may require players to look for specific traits or collect certain types of NFTs. Each NFT created in the Altar has a cost in $GOG tokens, consisting of a fixed minting fee and an optional fee based on game balance considerations.

Tokenomics
The $GOG token is the core currency of the Guild of Guardians ecosystem, offering players the ability to enhance their gaming experience. Players can utilize $GOG tokens to unlock various exciting and rewarding features within the game, whether through direct use or by holding them for future benefits.
Gems for NFT Minting
Gems are essential for minting gaming NFTs.
Minting requires $GOG tokens primarily, with occasional special events for minting Guardians.
Free-to-play players can access limited minting through in-game activities and competing in Leaderboards.
Holding rewards and minting rates are dynamically adjusted for a balanced economy and enjoyable player experience.
$GOG for Altar of Sacrifice Transactions
The Altar rebalances NFT supply with rewards and offers during special events.
$GOG tokens are necessary to activate the Altar.
20% of $GOG tokens used in the Altar go to Guild of Guardians team, with 20% carved out for Active Staking rewards.
$GOG for Asset Transactions
Players can use $GOG to buy assets in secondary sales and future NFT primary sales.
20% of marketplace fees charged by Guild of Guardians in $GOG go to a rewards pool.
Simplified user experience may involve purchasing $GOG on the open market and transferring them to the rewards pool on the buyer’s behalf.
Active Staking Rewards
$GOG tokens are distributed back to players as Active Staking rewards.
Rewards funded by in-app purchases of Guardians, royalty fees, and Altar transactions.
Players must stake $GOG tokens and actively participate in the game and ecosystem to receive rewards.
Governance and Voting
$GOG token holders may participate in decentralized governance for token-related proposals in the future.
Proposals may include allocation of token reserves, developer grants, daily rewards activation, and changes in token supply.
Token ownership threshold required for proposal submission to be determined later by the Foundation.
The Foundation can propose items for voting beneficial to the ecosystem and facilitate proposal curation for voting by all token holders.
Roadmap

With the regional test launch well underway in Canada, I’m ready to see things ramp up for Q2 2024’s global launch!

GamersGalaxie
Wanderin Thought’s…
After reading the whitepaper and conducting this breakdown, I'm increasingly excited for Guild of Guardian’s launch in Q2 2024. Unfortunately, I haven’t had a chance to play any of the demos that have been brought out in the past, giving gamers exclusive access! So I can’t judge the gameplay yet, but you can bet your ass, once I can, I will be giving it a review. From what I learned while doing this breakdown, a lot of thought and effort has been put into this game, and it really does deserve to be one of the top games coming from Immutable and its team, as well as the developers over at Mineloader. I'm really excited to see how it turns out! Especially after finding out they have worked on Final Fantasy XIV & The Last of Us (The Last of Us being one of my favorite web2 games). Just to clarify, I haven’t covered absolutely everything from the whitepaper, like their vision and pets for example. I you would like to read further the links will be provided at the very end.
Furthermore, WT from the GamersGalaxie podcast is hosting a space with individuals who got access to the regional test launch in Canada, to pick their brain and get a feel for the experience. You can tune in here or listen in, in the X post below. Depending on the time you have read this breakdown.
Special thanks to everyone who took their time to read this breakdown, I hope it helps you as much as it has helped me!
